The 2008 Signature Songwriting Competition Rules and
Regulations.
The Signature Songwriting Competition is an annual international competition that
is open to all indie songwriters from around the world regardless of their nationality or origin.
EACH
ENTRY MUST INCLUDE:
1.) Entry form - filled out
clearly and completely, with an original signature. Entry forms can be printed out (or photocopied) from the competition website
at www.songwriting-competition.net/entryform.html or you may request that one be mailed to you.
2.) Song
entry on a CD or audio cassette tape (any length) labeled with the song title and entrants name. Please enter 1 song per
CD or audio cassette tape.
* The “Lyrics Only category" does not require a CD or audio cassette tape.
3.) Lyric sheet for each song entry you submit. Please include
the English translation, if applicable. Lyrics must be typed or printed clearly.
* Lyrics are not required for the "Instrumental category".
4.) Entry Fee. (US Currency only).
Payments from countries outside the U.S.A. must be in the
form of a US bank check, money order, cash, or credit card. Personal checks are not accepted from outside the U.S.A.

ENTRY
DEADLINE: ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY DECEMBER 31, 2008 OR EARLIER!
Entrants may submit multiple entries in each category, or submit the same song in multiple categories. Each
entry requires a separate CD or audio cassette tape, entry form and entrance fee. (All entrance fees are non-refundable).
Songs entered into the Signature Songwriting Competition must be the entrants original song(s)
and must not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. By entering the competition, the entrant agrees
that the Signature Songwriting Competition will not be held liable for any copyright infringements perpetrated by
you or your song(s). The Signature Songwriting Competition reserves
the right to not screen any song(s) for any reason it deems valid. Winners are required to sign an affidavit confirming
that he/she holds all rights to their song. Failure to return the signed affidavit within 30 days may result
in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. Affidavits of winners under 18 years of age at time of
the award must be countersigned by a parent or legal guardian.
Entrants will retain all ownership rights to all songs submitted.
Entry materials (CDs, audio cassette tapes, or lyrics) submitted will not be returned to the entrant. The Signature
Songwriting Competition is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, or misappropriated entries.
Winners are selected by a judging panel of top industry professionals
consisting of A&R managers, record label executives, professional writers, publishers, producers, artists and other music
industry professionals who may be substituted at the discretion of the competition organizers. All Song entries are
judged equally based on lyrics, melody, composition, and originality. Production and performance are not considered in the
judging.
Finalists will be determined in February, 2009 and winners will be determined in April, 2009. Winners
will be notified by mail and/or email and will also be listed on the competition website at www.songwriting-competition.net. The Signature Songwriting Competition will use its best efforts to announce the winners at the designated time, but
will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays.
Prizes: The Grand Prize winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize. The Overall Second Place Winner will receive a $100
cash prize. The Overall Third Place Winner will receive a $50 cash prize. There will also be a Best In Category award for the
First Place winners in each of the 13 categories. There will also be a group of Honorable Mention recipients named.
All prizes won will be awarded to the first name on the entry form, and division of prizes among co-writers is the
responsibility of the winners. However, multiple writers will be listed on the competition website and in all press
releases. Prizes will be distibuted in a reasonable and timely fashion. Any federal, state, and local taxes, and customs fees,
when applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winner. The Signature Songwriting Competition will not pay any
winners' taxes. Winners agree to release the Signature Songwriting Competition and it's sponsors
from all liability regarding prizes won. The Signature Songwriting Competition will contact all winners regarding
prizes won using the contact information provided by the entrant. It's the entrant's responsibility to advise
the Signature Songwriting Competition of any change of address, phone, or email. It's the entrant's responsibility
to claim any prizes won no later than 180 days after all competition winners have been announced. If the winner has not
received any portion of the sponsored prizes within 180 days and has not responded to the Signature Songwriting Competition,
the Signature Songwriting Competition will no longer be responsible for delivery of sponsored prizes. Void where prohibited.
Entrants agree to accept and be bound by all terms of these official
competition rules and regulations and/or the decisions of the Signature Songwriting competition and the judges which
are final and binding in all matters. Employees, their families, subsidiaries, and affiliates are not eligible. If entrant
is under 18 years old, the signature of a parent or guardian is required. The Signature Songwriting Competition reserves
the right to extend the competition deadline for any unforeseen reasons. Entry constitutes permission to use winner's
name, likeness, and voice for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
